ABSTRACT

RAIL TOURISM is leading private sector provider of Train Reservation  services, Tourism details  based on a strong customer based application consisting of  lakhs of  customers

          The Company has developed the following strategies to achieve its strategic objective:

  • Offer multiple Tourism services to provide customers with a “one-stop shop” solution;
  • To provide Ticket reservation, Status checking and cancellation facilities.
  • Focus on satisfying and retaining customers by ensuring high level of customer satisfaction;
  • Leverage strengths of its strategic and financial partners; and
  • Emphasis on human resource development to achieve operational efficiencies.

 OBJECTIVE:

The main objective of this project is to develop a tool for the Reservations and online booking for tourism places. This application would be the best thing to implement online facility for  Tourism customers.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this project is essentially to develop a tool that runs within the domain, and can securely perform ticket reservation, cancellation and  to  provide online booking  for diff Tourism places.The main purpose for preparing this document is to give a general insight into the analysis and requirements of the existing system or situation and for determining the operating characteristics of the system.

EXISTING SYSTEM:

The flow of work in the current system is manual in nature. Which involves whenever a citizen needs a to travel  he must fill the application and submit it in the nearby  reservation counters. Now the application will be forwarded to the next level officer, if it is agreed the corresponding applicant profile must be maintained manually. Similarly if the customer gave any compliant or enquiry kind of service, they need to approach the office which involves manual work.

                        For these types of operations many number of employees are involved to sort out any issue, they need to refer many books and manuals to take a decision. As we know manual work is error prone. Sometimes all the employees involved may not be coordinated properly to finish the work in time.

Drawback of the existing system is

  • It’s a manual operation – takes more time.
  • The customer has to wait for a long time at reservation counters.
  • Decision making requires more time for employees..
  • Since manual work involves many employees they may not be coordinated properly
  • Any request from the customer for enquires and complaints may                     
  • take more time.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:

The proposed system is a centralized internet based application, which allows many customers logging from anywhere to keep the Ticket reservation, status checking and cancellation, complaints and enquiries.

  • Obviously the computer based system involves less employees. So much coordination is not required.
  • The manual work is almost reduced.
  • Now for taking decisions no need to sort out many books manually and to consult the other employees.
  • Now the customers need not wait for long time at reservation counters regarding services.
